Board Members and Officers

If you would really like to be an integral part of our chapter and have the most influence on the direction we take, we invite you to run for the Eastside Audubon Board of Directors.  Candidates are interviewed to make sure they understand the commitment they are making.  Directors attend all Board meetings, the annual Retreat and the monthly Program meetings, as well as serving as an officer or chair of a standing committee.  At-large Board members make a commitment to a special project involving their area of interest.

The Board of Directors determines the policies and objectives of the Chapter, monitors programs and services, and gives direction to staff, committee chairs, and volunteers. The Board is fiscally accountable to the Chapter, it’s members, and the world at large, and is responsible for effectively managing the Chapter’s resources. In other words, act as wise, fiscally-responsible cheerleaders!

There are certain expectations of all Board members, regardless of position. These expectations constitute an agreement between the Chapter and each Board member. The overriding expectation of all Board members is that they fully support, and work to implement, the Chapter’s mission.

Each Board Member is elected for a two-year term of office, after which time they may run for re-election, run for another position, or step down.
