Events Committee
The Events Committee coordinates the outreach activities that the Chapter does a few times a year. We participate in two types of events. We either set up a table or booth at various events around the Eastside, or we have “in-house” events. Some of the outreach events in which have participated are: “Going Native” at Molbak’s, Spring Garden Fair at Northshore Utility District, and Volunteer Fair at Crossroads Shopping Center. These are a great way for us to “meet and greet” the public, and introduce our Chapter to the community. We also hold an Annual Dinner and the Christmas Bird Count dinner, which are the responsibility of this committee.
This committee is responsible for:
1. Coordinating and managing all aspects of public outreach events, including Chapter leaders and volunteers;
2. Coordinating our participation with host organizations;
3. Preparing write-up of event for website and newsletter;
4. Ensuring all materials and props are acquired and delivered to the venue on event day, and returned and stored at our offices, when completed;
4. Survey volunteers to determine any strengths or weaknesses in the event, for future reference;
5. Formally thanks host organization and all volunteers who participated in event;
