April Program Night: A Birding Couple that Really Clicks!

  • Bellevue Botanical Garden 12001 Main Street Bellevue, WA, 98005 United States (map)

Join us this month as we welcome nationally renowned photographers Don and Margaret Larkin to Program Night. They will share their photos of birds and discuss how they work together as a married couple.

Margaret grew up living on an apple orchard in eastern Washington while Don grew up in a suburb of Portland. They will illustrate how they frequently shoot the same bird but photograph it differently.

They have both been honored by the North American Nature Photography Association many times. Margaret was the winner of the 2024 NANPA Showcase award for a shot of the Columbia Gorge at sunset. Don was the 2023 winner of the same award for his shot of a crashing wave at Cape Disappointment, WA.

Corvid Crier readers will recognize their names for having won the Photo of the Month honor six times in the last 2 ½ years. Photography group members frequently observe how the Larkins can shoot the same bird differently, yet both achieve stunning results.
