BHAS has approved the Radar Ridge Resolution.

The BHAS board and conservation committee have approved all 4 resolutions listed below. The Radar Ridge resolution gives us a strong position should we want to negotiate with Energy NW to strengthen the potential modifications to the project as described in the project update of 10.09.09, as well as any other modifications that might be suggested in the future.

We approve the wind turbines.  This is about electricity.  There are no murletts even close to this project

Eastside Audubon voted unanimously to support all four resolutions, with the most discussion on Radar Ridge.

Our Board noted, however, that the Radar Ridge resolution was the only one that followed the format required by WSACC. It was much easier to read than the other three.

Kitsap Audubon votes in favor of the WSACC Radar Ridge Resolution.  We will consider the other 3 resolutions at our Nov. 3 board meeting.


On Nov 3, the Kitsap Audubon board voted to support the lead sinker/loon lakes resolution and the 2 resolutions regarding  Hanford.

Olympic Peninsula Audubon Board (OPAS) met last night and appoved the Resolution on getting the lead out of freshwaters, We also approved both resolutions on actions at the Hanford Reach National Monument. 

The Conservation Committee and the OPAS Board were split on a position on the Radar Ridge Wind Turbine Project and did not act on that Resolution.  OPAS would support the development of new requlations focused on the permitting of new Wind Turbine Projects on the Olympic Peninsula and Pacific Coast.

At our board meeting Tuesday night we voted to support the Loons and lead and both Hanford resolutions.  We tabled the Radar ridge resolution because there seems to be some significant confusion on it.
