Environmental Lobby Day

What is Environmental Lobby Day?

Each year the Washington State Legislature is in session, Eastside Audubon members travel to Olympia for a full day.  We learn about issues, talk to the senators and representatives in our districts, mix with other environmentally-aware people and enjoy good food and stimulating conversation.

Contact Jim McRoberts at jim4fish@comcast.net
to learn how you can be part of this fun and important event.

2010

2010 Environmental Priorities - our priorities help ensure clean water, create new jobs, reduce the threat of toxic chemicals, and maintain core environmental protections in a time of slashed budgets.

2009

2009 Accomplishments

2009 Environmental Priorities - our efforts were focused on promoting a vibrant and growing green economy.  Necessry budget cuts made this really tough this year.

  • Invest in clean water
  • Transit-oriented communities
  • Cap and invest
  • Efficiency first

2008

2008 Priorities for a Healthy Washington - Audubon Washington was the sponsor of one of the Priorities: Evergreen Communities (HB2844). This law will help retain and replant trees in urban areas, reduce stormwater flooding and pollution as well as increase quality of life.
  • Evergreen communities
  • Local solutions to global warming
  • Climate action & green jobs

2007

2007 Priorities for a Healthy Washington - Our favorite Priority was the $100 Million for Wildlife and Recreation Program appropriation.  This doubles the state's appropriation to this highly competitive and “pork-free” program.
  • $100 million for Wildlife and Recreation Program
  • Save our sound legislation
  • Clean-air/clean fuels Legislation
  • Cap and invest
