Family Nature Walks

Looking at Spider at Juanita Bay Park by Sunny Walter

Looking at Spider at Juanita Bay Park by Sunny Walter

Once or twice a year, youth education volunteers take children and families on walks to see and identify birds and other wildlife.  These events are called family nature walks and are open to the public as well as our members.  We walk at a leisurely pace, stopping to explore any natural object that captures the fancy of our participants, young and old.  Guests and their families are always welcome.

Previous Family Walks

In November, members of the Education Committee hosted a family afternoon of bird watching at Juanita Bay Park   We saw birds, muskrats, turtles, and spiders.   One volunteer brought his scope and binoculars were provided for the kids so they could find and learn about the birds in the park and on the water.   We counted 30 people enjoying our nature walk by the time we were done.
