Movie Night Chair
Work with the Conservation and/or Education Chair in choosing movies on environmental or social issues, birds, wildlife, natural history or travel, and coordinate movie night shows.
Our library has several wonderful films from which to choose, and this is a great way to reach out to our members and the larger Eastside community.
You will be responsible for:
Volunteers must be able to work as a team member and share ideas openly with other Board members, staff and volunteers. Also, a willingness to actively participate in Chapter activities and to act as an Eastside Audubon ambassador is necessary. Strong initiative and decision-making skills are necessary for this position. We are looking for someone with a great attitude and a desire to help the Chapter succeed. We want someone who can jump right in and show leadership.
- Under the supervision of the Conservation and/or Education chairs, choosing the movies to show, and reserving the movies and room for that evening;
- Researching and finding new movies that would appeal to our audience and obtaining permission for public viewing;
Drafting and sending the write-up to our publicity team each month (newsletter editor, publicity chair and web editor);\- Obtaining all refreshments and setting up the kitchen and church for movie night;
- Hosting the movie and following discussion, if merited by the subject;
Helpful skills would include:
- Attention to details and timelines
- Punctual and self starter
- Reliable with great project follow-through
- Organized and ability to communicate directions
