Global Big Day Birding Competition - May 11, 2024

Join with Eastside Audubon in Helping Scientists Record Bird Populations

The Cornell Lab of Ornithology needs your help to collect critical bird population data on Global Big Day on May 11. Eastside Audubon is encouraging all members to join the EAS team to collect Eastside data.

The Cornell Lab of Ornithology organizes the 24-hour event to collect data. This helps conservation efforts by providing insights into habitat needs, migration patterns, and population changes.

“Every observation helps,” says Eastside Audubon president Jeremy Lucas. “Even 30 minutes in your backyard or a local park helps the understanding of bird populations on the Eastside. Just file a simple online report.”

Register for the Eastside Audubon Global Big Day team. A suggested donation of $25 is encouraged to help fund projects like the Marymoor bird habitat restoration.
