ONLINE COURSE: WINTER BIRDS OF WASHINGTON

Winter Birds of Washington Online Course

Wednesdays, October 21 - November 18
7PM - 8:30PM

Is this quarantine starting to get to you? Are you watching birds out your windows and dreaming about what a birding trip might be like? Where might you go on your own during these Coronavirus times, and what might you find and identify? Well, Eastside Audubon’s Winter Birds of Washington online course will help, both now and as we head back to a healthier world. We will cover about 100 common species found in Washington during the fall and winter, their identification, where they live, and a little on their songs and calls.

Birding can be great fun but frustrating until you become familiar with the local birds and learn the skills that expert birders use. This course will kick-start your abilities. We will cover the best techniques to separate and narrow identification. Both beginner and intermediate birders will learn a lot and have plenty of opportunities for practice.  There will be quizzes. Key characteristics including shape, size, color patterns, behaviors, habitat, and sounds will be reviewed.
