Accessible and Inclusive Bird Outing at Newcastle Beach Park, Bellevue, WA
Our bird outing will follow the asphalt loop trail along the shoreline of Lake Washington and around the grass field and picnic areas. A second loop through the wooded area of the park will offer another birding opportunity. We expect to see Song Sparrows, Dark-eyed Juncos, Steller’s Jays, Downy Woodpecker, Red-breasted Nuthatch in the woods and wintering waterfowl including Bufflehead, Common Goldeneye, Ring-necked Ducks, and Hooded Mergansers in the lake.
This walk is limited to 10 birders plus additional attendants if needed.

Accessibility
We will enjoy a leisurely birding experience at Newcastle Beach Park. We will look for fall and wintering birds along a level paved loop trail that skirts the shore of Lake Washington, and a packed dirt loop trail through a wooded area. Both the paved and dirt trails are level, however the dirt trail has some exposed roots and soft areas. You can choose to do one or both loops. There are benches at the lakeshore but none in the woodland area. There are picnic tables.
