Join us for a Solstice Field Trip and Enjoy Evening Birding
Evening birding provides an opportunity to see and hear birds that are more active toward the end of their day. The summer solstice offers more evening light than any other day and we’ll take advantage of that. Birds nesting at Stillwater include Red-breasted Sapsucker, Hairy Woodpecker, American Bittern, Tree and Violet-green Swallows, Willow Flycatcher, Western Wood-Pewee, Bullock’s Oriole, Swainson’s Thrush, and Black-headed Grosbeak. Likely warblers present will be Northern Yellow, Orange-crowned, and Wilson’s Warblers, and Common Yellowthroat. Bring binoculars, and a camera if you wish. The leader will bring a spotting scope.
