Skill Level: This field trip is for any level of birder, and the leaders encourage attendance by anyone with little or no birding experience. Children 10+ are permitted if accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Overview: Join Kendall Wiggins and Anne Wehrly for this exploration of varied habitats at the confluence of the Tolt and Snoqualmie Rivers in Carnation.  Depending on the season, species present in this park include raven, kingfisher, American dipper, kestrel, peregrine falcon, bald eagle, Bullock’s oriole, black-headed grosbeak, cedar waxwing, wood duck, pied billed grebe, swans, and more.

Pace: Leisurely walk

Terrain: The pace for this walk will be leisurely, mostly on gravel or dirt trails that are fairly level in grade, with a few stretches on the paved path. Not all sections are ADA compliant/accessible.

Distance: The distance covered will be less than three miles.

Notes: There are portable toilets available year-round.

Please plan to be outdoors, with whatever water, snacks, sunscreen, bug repellent, or supplies that you may need.
