Accessible and Inclusive Bird Outing at Lake Sammamish State Park in Issaquah
We will enjoy a leisurely birding experience at Lake Sammamish State Park. We will look for fall and wintering birds along the shore of Lake Sammamish and nearby wooded areas. There are benches at the lakeshore but none in the woodland area. There are picnic tables. Participants may choose to go with the group along the trails or do stationary birding by the lake.
Birds to enjoy: Great Blue Heron, a variety of ducks including Mallard, American Wigeon, American Coot, Ring-billed and California Gulls, chickadees, kinglets, Golden-crowned and Fox Sparrows, and woodpeckers are possible.

This trip is designed to be intentionally inclusive and accessible for beginner or advanced birders who experience accessibility challenges as a result of a disability or a health concern. The outing leaders have experience with accessibility challenges. Birders of all abilities are welcome on this outing.

Meeting Place
Meet at the Sunset Beach parking area where there are accessible parking spaces. From the park entrance on NW Sammamish Road drive straight to the large parking area in the back and park near the restrooms and concession stand.

Bring binoculars if you have them. Six pairs of loaner binoculars will be available. Dress for the weather.
