A Conversation with a Crow
By Michele Westmorland
Marymoor Park is a favorite destination for many.
It's also a favorite of Tarynn, our Mini American Shepherd, a place where she can run free, sniff noses, and roll in the grass.
On this day in April, we received a message from a crow. He/she was loud and boisterous. Since I wasn’t carrying a large camera system, I captured this photo from only two feet away with my phone camera.
This vocal, smart bird had a major complaint to caw about: “How come I’m not listed on this sign??? I love leftovers.”
I want to give a huge shout-out of admiration to Eastside Audubon volunteers who remove invasive plants and replant natives to enhance the habitat. The calling birds, the wind through the trees, the scent of the place — all of it is something to treasure.
