Kids had fun exploring bugs near the Audubon kiosk at Marymoor Park on Saturday, August 15, at a Kids' Bug Class led by Eastside Audubon members Sue Andersen and David Droppers.

August is a hard month to fill an event, and this one competed directly with the Chomp! festival traffic. Six kids attended. One even came with her own binoculars. She is definitely Audubon material.
Sue and David kept the class hands-on from start to finish, and their ability to engage the kids was remarkable.
Sue drew a wonderful connection between bugs and the birds that depend on them — a link that turned an insect class into an Audubon class.
Eastside Audubon hopes to offer more classes like this one in the future.
