Foster Plant Parents Needed: Help nurture bare root plants for Marymoor

Would you be interested in helping our restoration at Marymoor, but can't make our monthly work parties, don’t want to deal with thorny blackberry bushes or get your hands dirty?

Well, we have a job for you!

This fall we will be receiving a number of bare root plants to be installed near the viewing mound. Bare root plants are less expensive than potted plants, are easy to transport, and can have stronger growth potential, however, some of our shipment will be quite small and will need to be potted up and cared for before they will be large enough to set out. We need a handful of individuals with a little bit of space in their garden, on a patio, or even on a balcony who would be willing to water a few plants until they are large enough to plant in the ground. This would be 5-10 plants in 1-liter containers that would need a bit of attention for about 9 months. Of course, if the pots can be put in a location where they get rain, very little additional watering would be needed during the winter months.
