Get Ready for Birdathon in May!
Ah, Spring. Spring brings the promise of better weather, blooming flowers, and hiking trails at higher elevations opening up. At home, it means that many of us are ready to begin planting and tending to our gardens and firing up the grills. Spring is the season of tradition.
Spring also brings a variety of resident and migrating birds out to sing, find food, and find love, which brings another tradition….Birdathon!
Every May, Eastside Audubon holds its month-long fundraising suite of events. Your donations and participation helps us reach ever higher year over year. Your support is what makes our work in birds, conservation, and education possible! In my 8 years of being on the Board of Directors, I have constantly been humbled by how our supporters have risen to the challenge.
In 2025, we have:
Continued to offer both in-person and virtual Program Nights rich with information and in many cases amazing pictures
Expanded on a partnership with both the University of Washington and King County to begin a new restoration project that includes habitat creation, bird surveys, and remote bird detection devices
Expanded our bird walks
And so much more!
Help us accomplish more in 2026 and have fun doing it! There are a variety of activities already posted with more on the way! You can attend a fieldtrip, sail on a boat to see puffins, learn about Flycatchers, start a May Birding Challenge team, or simply donate Eastside Audubon’s Birdathon effort!
